Ultrasound Verdict

So the verdict is in, and my maternal intuition is...wrong! It's a boy! I figure now that I know I'm always getting the opposite of what I think, I can still predict accurately what will happen :) I'm going into another ultrasound next week to rule out the possibility of cleft lip. I'm genuinely not worried about it even if the little guy ends up having a cleft lip. The treatment isn't bad (surgery) and isn't life threatening. Plus, my doctor wasn't sure it was there, she's just being careful. I'll post an update next week. Also, they moved my due date earlier since the little guy measured 2 weeks ahead of schedule. So now it's January 1st. Happy new year!

I'm so excited to have a boy! I would've been equally excited for a girl, but the thing that was so surprising today was that I really thought they would see girl parts in there. R was shocked too. We love the idea of two little brothers romping around. We haven't decided on names definitively like we thought, but here are some front runners: Eli, Leonard, Aidan, Dillon, Elliott, Finn, Ian, Oliver, Marley and River. There's more than that too so who knows what we'll end up on. R and I still really like Eli. I like Finn and Oliver, but R's not crazy about Finn. River is also one we both like. Anyways, it's up in the air. Feel free to vote for your favorite!

Hip hip hooray! That's way exciting! I'm glad Miles will have a little friend since no one else on this side of the family is capable of producing males!

I'm so glad that Miles gets a little friend too. I had a feeling it was a boy but I didn't want to say anything...simply because it's always the opposite of what the parents think. :P
I like Eli, Elliot, Ian, and Marley. And I really like Aidan but that's what I wanted to name one of my boys in the distant future. xD

Yea for you! I think two boys in a row will be great, and I can say from experience it is nice being able to reuse all of your clothes pronto. And I REALLY like the name Eli. My friend has a boy Eli and he is the most friendly, helpful, funny, and good natured kid around. Kind of what I imagine your kid to be like.

Well, I am pretty much planning on naming any boy I have Oliver (whether Aaron likes it or not) so you know where my allegiance lies.

Yay for boys! I like your name choices--Caleb's middle name is Elliott, and I love Eli. And Oliver. And Ian. Etc.

woo hoo! I like Finn A LOT (see: Neil Finn of Crowded House fame), but also Eli. I'm well excited for you!

Congrats! I love having 2 boys despite the fact that more and more fequently they seem to wallop each other. As for names...I like Eli (we've known 2 Eli's who are adorable). I also like Finn and Elliot. Recently I've really liked Jude. Feel free to take it, but keep in mind if we have a 3rd boy we may take it back! Half way...good luck with the other half!

Congratulations on a little brother for Miles. :) Our family is FULL of great-nephews! This will make great grandson # 5 for Papa and Grandma.

I love the name Eli. It was on my list for years. (John had to put his vote in and it messed things up! Eli was a name I loved way back in my high school days.)

Lauren is scheduled to have her ultrasound tomorrow. We are excited to hear the verdict. John and I are throwing in our guesses. We both think that it will be a girl. We'll see.....

Congrats! Of course you would have been pleased with a girl, but having an older brother to show you the ropes has been fun for our boys. Of course, Cora has 2 older brothers to show her the ropes and protect her! ;)

I read your list of names and immediately thought Finn Millecam was a really good one, but then I saw Ryan doesn't like it, so my vote is probably shot down before it even left the gate. Congratulations! I'm glad Miles is getting a little buddy.

I with you on the Finn Millecam thing, but it's true that Ryan still doesn't like it. Oh well. But I am starting to love Eli all over again. I also tried out Oliver for awhile, but it didn't stick. I keep calling by belly Eli, so that's probably going to be the winner. Should I just give him 5 middle names?
